PAFRO selects first Academic Scholarship recipient:
In December 2007, PAFRO was able to invite its first orphan graduate, 16 year old
to the United States on an Academic Scholarship. Chosen for his kind hearted nature and overall potential in many areas, Artyom was chosen to study at EC Boston and EC New York ( international English centers) until September 2009. At that point, he hopes to get into one of EC's partner colleges in Boston and major in computer programming. As long as he continues studying, he will be able to remain in the United States on a student visa. Someday, he hopes to return to Russia to assist orphans like himself to achieve their goals.
After just two months of living in the United States with a host family, Artyom's language acquisition and quick adaptation to American life have been remarkable. We are very proud of him and hope to invite more students like him to participate in this program in the future.
